RISKFIN participated in the XI International Financial Forum of the MICA and the Financial Community, held in Batumi (Republic of Georgia) on April 24-27, 2019.

Elena Rozanova, Advisor to the General Director of RISKFIN LLC, disclosed the main topic of the Forum “New Financial Technologies: New Challenge, New Perspectives” in two presentations: one was entitled as “Peculiarities of National Stress Testing” and another one was conducted in the form of a master class and was named as “ICAAP Practice in small and medium Russian banks: brake, steering wheel or fifth wheel? ".

Elena noted that for credit institutions of the Russian banking sector, which have been operating for several years under conditions of mass revocation of licenses, nationalization, sanctions, and economic restructuring, creation and integration of stress testing into practice can increase the chances of survival. In her presentation Elena looked at the changes in the requirements of Western and Russian regulators in this area, analyzed their potential impact on small and medium-sized banks, raised questions about the effectiveness of stress tests. Elena also presented results of stress testing of banks conducted using ‘RISKFIN. Prof’, noting that they can be useful in development, implementation and evaluation of the effectiveness of stress testing procedures.

Master class that was held as part of the forum’s additional program was relevant not only for risk managers, but also for managers whose responsibility is to comply with the requirements of the regulator, who oversee issues of internal capital and risk management procedures as well as development strategy of a credit institution.

Participants actively discussed recent and forthcoming changes in the regulation of the ICAAP, methodology, documentation and automation of risk management, possibility of turning risk management from a high-cost business process to a driver for bank development.
